A Mini Guide to Awaken To Your Life Purpose

2. You must clearly define what abundance is for you.
3. You must pursue solving a problem that you are excited to solve.
4. You must take daily CIA (courageous, imperfect action).”

I love this quote from Mastin Kipp. He is a straight talker, there is no BS when it comes to his advice!
Take the four points above. How many can you tick off? Chances are you may never have asked yourself the right questions before, such as:

• What is life purpose?
• Do I have a life purpose? And if so what is my unique life purpose?
• How do I bring my purpose to life?
• What does true abundance mean to me?
• What problems am I good at solving that also bring me joy?
• What daily action do I take towards achieving my purpose?

Take a moment to write the answers to these questions. Go on, it will only take a few minutes!

Now, what have you discovered? Perhaps you still feel a bit lost and confused. That’s okay. I’m here to guide you.

Are You Climbing The Wrong Career Ladder and Ignoring Your Life Purpose?

The career ladder is a tempestuous thing. It sucks you in and then entices you with pay increases and accolades. Left to its own devices it takes over and leads you in the direction of its choosing. Stepping off the career ladder can be a difficult task, especially when you have climbed it’s heights and the world below seems a long way down. Its all you can do to hang on, so you keep climbing, hoping for something better at the top.

Are you in the wrong career?
Most people know when they are in the wrong career but may not be willing to admit it. When you have worked towards a certain goal your whole life, received certifications, degrees and promotions, it can be hard to throw it all in and start again. Even though you hate the job you are doing, the fear of the unknown is often more scary “better the devil you know…” and the willingness to suffer on seems like the “easy” option.

Years pass and inevitably the suffering grows, you wish you had made the brave decision to live your purpose years ago but now alas, it’s too late! Or is it?

Perhaps you have been brave enough to change career once or twice, but in reality nothing has really changed, just variations on a theme, your purpose still eludes you.

What is your life purpose anyway?
The problem is that most of us have absolutely no idea what career to choose when we leave school or college. The people advising us have no idea what career is best for us either, so they advise us to go for roles which are “secure” or “prestigious” because they think that is what is best for us. Aptitude tests can reveal only so much, the truth of your purpose lies in your heart, not in the results of a test. Of course guidance counsellors and parents are innocent enough, they just want us to have a good life, they don’t realise that we all have a unique purpose and until we are living our purpose, we will always feel like there is something missing.

That purpose was evident when we were children, we gravitated towards our interests and could spend hours playing, getting lost in the joy of the process – drawing, singing, creating. These were all hints of your unique purpose, the thing you were born to do. Somewhere along the way, you were told to be realistic, to stop dreaming and to be prepared for the real world! Dreams were lost as a haze of obligation set in.

You may not even remember what it was that you dreamed of doing or being. Your purpose may be so deeply buried that the notion of even having a purpose seems alien to you. But all is not lost, given the slightest chance, the smallest opening, your purpose will gradually reveal itself to you. All you have to do is to be open to it and be aware of the signs.

It’s never too late…
Finding your purpose is the most important thing you will do during your life. Living your purpose is the second most important thing! For all those who have no idea of their purpose, there are just as many who believe they are living their purpose but who in fact are completely misguided. The ego likes to trick us and tempt us with shiny objects. And since we get distracted easily, it can be hard to remain focused on our purpose.

You may even have some knowledge of what it is you are here to do but actually doing it appears so overwhelming it seems better not to try at all.

Your raison d’etre
The process of finding and living your purpose albeit daunting is far more stimulating, exciting and rewarding than anything else you could do. It’s your raison d’être and it is only through expressing your purpose that you will really start living. Life opens up, and while there will be lows, there will also be great highs, great rewards and great fulfilment. And, its never too late to start. There are people in the world right now who can benefit from what you have to offer. If you can help one person improve their life through sharing your unique talents and gifts, your life has been worthwhile. Perhaps you can help thousands or even millions of people, but you won’t know unless you try. Discovering your purpose is the first step.

The perfect time to change career
If you’re waiting for the perfect time to change career or to spend time doing what you love, that time is never going to come. There will always be obstacles, excuses and hurdles. The time is now!

“If not us who? If not now, when?”

Don’t wait, start today. Just one little step in the right direction is all it takes. Tomorrow another little step and before you know it you’ll have taken great strides towards discovering and living your purpose. And that’s when life really begins!

Today I am going to take you through a practice that I absolutely love and I recommend everyone should do this. It’s a practice that I first discovered through the book Creative Visualisation by Shakti Gawain. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it, there are some amazing practices in it. It’s a book I always go back to again and again. This practice is adapted from a process in that book but also from other teachers I’ve learnt from and through my own personal practice.

For today’s guided meditation, you are going to be getting into a space where you recharge your energy, your soul and get into a high vibration.

I call this Plugging In because it is exactly like recharging your phone. You plug your phone in and you see the bars filling up and when it’s charged you see full bars. When your energy is depleted it’s like those bars are going down and you are operating on empty. Most people don’t know how to recharge themselves, they are very good at recharging their phones but not their own energy! I’m going to teach you how to do that today so that you are running on full bars and you are able to maintain that high energy through plugging into your source.

Your source of energy is the Universe/God, and energy comes from the divine is very uplifting and powerful. If we are only connected to that spiritual energy however, We are living up in the clouds or “away with the fairies” as some might say and we are disconnected from grounding, nurturing earth energy. In order to balance that energy we need to be grounded.

I am going to teach you how to connect with divine energy from source and to the earthing and grounding energy of Mother Earth. We all need that balance of the two. If you have one more than the other, you become misaligned and you are not functioning at your optimal energy.

Make sure to put aside some time to remain without distraction so you can fully appreciate the meditation and deeply connect with the energy. You may want to set up a sacred space by lighting some candles or incense and creating a sanctuary for yourself. This is your time to recharge and to give back to yourself.

So get ready and enjoy the ride!

I see so many people who are unaware of their power and how they misuse it. Just because you don’t think you’re powerful, doesn’t mean you’re not. It’s dangerous not knowing your power because it is still working away in the background but probably against you rather than for you!

Recognise your power, accept your power and use it for your good. Use your power to transform your life and stop giving your power away!

All of us have profound power, it escapes no-one. Yes, even you! It is always working, even when you are unaware, even when you are feeling shitty and even when you feel powerless.

1. Why should you get a mentor?

A mentor helps you to fast track your success by learning and receiving guidance from someone who has done it already. Of course there is merit in making your own mistakes and learning from them but if you can avoid making them in the first place…

Some of my greatest a-ha moments have been revealed to me through the guidance of a mentor. I know for sure that I wouldn’t be where I am now without the mentors who have helped me find my path.

A mentor can take many forms and come in many guises. A chance exchange with a stranger, an inspiring book, a podcast, a lesson in a movie and of course through one-to-one or group coaching. The former experiences can be sporadic and random, the latter is planned and reliable.

Deciding to work with a mentor is a big step and usually a big investment. However, the investment is in yourself and your own growth and progress. Are you valuing yourself enough to invest in someone who can speed your progress? And consider the cost of not investing – years of searching, questioning and trial and error. In the end, the cost of not investing in a mentor is much greater in the long run.

2. Who should you work with?

There are a few points to consider when choosing your ideal mentor.

A. Have they already done what you want to do?
If they have achieved success in your area of interest, be it health, romance, career, money, or whatever else you’re seeking to achieve, they are more likely to know what they are talking about!
B. Do you connect with them?
Is their energy aligned with yours or is there something about them that doesn’t quite feel right?
C. Do other people recommend them?
Who have they worked with and what do they have to say about this person?
D. What level of interaction do you want?
Are you happy to work over Skype or online or do you need a personal face-to-face relationship with your mentor? Is a meeting once a week enough or do you value extra support?
E. What do you expect to get out of the relationship?
If you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve from the mentoring (even if it’s to get greater clarity) you will see greater benefit. Also a mentor is not there to do the work for you. They will advise and support you but ultimately it’s up to you to do the work!

3. When is it time to move on?

After some time working with the same mentor, you’ll find the relationship runs it’s course and you have received all you can from the mentoring. This is to be expected and a natural progression. The question is do you go it alone from here on in or do you need to “upgrade” your mentorship program? The answer lies in your circumstances. You may find that a period without a mentor allows you to implement all you have learnt from your previous mentoring relationship and also to stand on your own two feet.

Seeking advice from a mentor is wise but relying on one is giving away your power. Remember, the purpose is to fast track your success, not to hand over responsibility.

In the end, there will always be other mentors who are a few steps ahead of you who can help you to get where you want to be.

I find that these people always come at the right time. Simply putting an intention out into the Universe for a mentor and a guide will lead you to discover the people who you need most when you need them most. “When the student is ready the teacher will appear.”

If you’ve been feeling that call to live your purpose, knowing there is more to life and you have more to offer, know that this call is real, there is a reason for it and you must answer that call.

Eileen says “that’s what your soul wants, it’s here to serve.” And the way in which you are being called to serve is indicated to you through your true hearts desires. You get to do what you love while helping others and in return you step into your power, and you experience fulfilment, prosperity, joy and everything begins to “click” into place. You get to have those aha moments, doing what you love and living life to the full.

When we see others sharing their gifts and living their purpose it inspires us to step up and to stop playing small. The world doesn’t need more Solicitors or Accountants, it needs people to step outside their comfort zone, and have the courage to say “I’m an artist” or “I’m a writer” or “I’m a mother” or whatever else it is they are being called to do. And have the courage to go do that.
